SIDS – What you NEED to know |
Sudden Infant Death syndrome (SIDS) is the unexpected death of an apparently healthy infant, usually before one year of age, which is of unknown cause and occurs especially during sleep.
Keep your baby SAFE: - Your baby should always sleep on his/her back. Babies are three times more likely to die from SIDS if they sleep on their stomach.
- Babies will not choke when sleeping on their back
- Bumper pads, pillows, stuffed animals, children adults, and couches can smother your sleeping child. Your baby should always sleep alone.
